Privacy statement for the Ely DA

The Ely Diocesan Association of Church Bell Ringers takes the privacy of its members very seriously.

As a member of the Association, the Ely DA will hold some data about you. The primary purpose of keeping this data is to publish membership details in the annual report and provide a method of contacting you about your membership should that become necessary. The officers of the Ely DA will take all reasonable steps to ensure that private data held about its members, such as the tower lists contained in the annual report, remain private, and the Association will never share your personal information with any other organisation or mailing list. In the event that external companies are used to process information, one of the officers will have checked that they have a suitable privacy policy of their own.

The Ely DA will not routinely contact you about ringing events. If you would like to find out about ringing in your area then there is a calendar of events for the whole Association here and all four districts provide information by email. For details, see the individual District websites:

Some members will become tower correspondents or officers of the Association. Contact details for members holding those positions will be released to the public domain. However, there is no requirement that these details are the same as those held on record by the Ely DA; for example a generic email address can be used which is redirected to the relevant individual.

The Ely DA requires that all peals rung for the Association are sent for publication in the Ringing World and the Association may check such performances against its membership data.

Your local tower will also probably hold information about its members. Local tower arrangements are not specifically covered by this privacy statement but we expect that towers will only hold data for the purposes of administering your membership or contacting you with information of genuine interest.

If you would like further information about precisely what data is held about you by the Association please contact the General Secretary (secretary_at_elyda.org.uk).
