Notes on the meeting of the General Committee on 26 July 2025, originally posted to Facebook by Bob Cox:
This is not an official announcement of the EDA – Just my own take! If EDA members have any questions, please take them up with your district secretary.
1) Bishop Dagmar has been invited to the service for the AGM next year and has accepted.
2) There has been a noticeable increase in EDA communications recently. Our webpages, Facebook page and emails via Member Mojo all positively contribution to better communications.
3) A priority list of towers with bells that are worth maintaining is being created.
4) Progress is being made concerning if Gift Aid is recoverable for funds into the bell fund. It was agreed that unanimously that the percentage of the subs going into the bell fund should be voted on annually at the AGM.
5) The proposal to redefine the RATO role was proposed and the GC voted to accept the changes to the regulations. Within this the RATF moneys will remain in the general account but be administered by the EDA treasurer as other EDA spend. The regulations have now been updated on the EDA webpage.
6) It was suggested that delegated responsibility for requests for non-bell fund projects up to £2,000 could be given to the Admin Committee & EDA Chair which will report back to the GC.
7) There was a discussion about how the EDA Report writing and distribution could be made easier. It was suggested that fewer ¼ peal footnotes may make reading easier. From next year the membership data for the report will be taken from Member Mojo
😎 The Young Ringers had a very successful weekend in Birmingham at the National Young Ringers.
