Notes on the  meeting of the General Committee on 31 January 2026, originally posted to Facebook by Bob Cox:

This is not an official announcement of the EDA – Just my own take! If EDA members have any questions, please take them up with your district. secretary.

1) There was a call as a reminder for the draft reports to be included in the EDA Annual report.  Tom Ridgman kindly volunteered to collate the Annual Report once again.

2) There are some EDA committee member stepping down (or reaching an end milestone in their service) at this year’s AGM.  They are

  a. Bell Advisor.

  b. RATO.

  c. General Secretary.

  d. Public Relations Officer.

It was agreed to advertise these roles in various ways well before the AGM

3) It was agreed that there would be no change to the level of subscriptions for the next year.

4) It was agreed to transfer £10K to the BRF from the General Account.

5) The proposal is to leave the % of the subscriptions that automatically to the BRF at 25% for the next year.

6) A minor general ‘tidy-up’ of the regulations was authorised and one proposed change to the EDA rules which will be communicated in good time for the AGM

7) The ‘Complaints Guidance’ procedure was agreed along with some minor adjustments.  It was agreed that a separate page be created for ‘Policies and procedures’ on our webpage.

8) The practical arrangements for the AGM were finalised with a commitment to advertise, in more than one, well before the AGM.  The intention is to broadcast the AGM.  There will not be the ability to make this two-way.

9) There was a preliminary discussion concerning the dates for the ADMs.  This was more of a notification than a proposal at present.
