2026 CCCBR Meeting

All four EDA reps were present at the 2026 Central Council meeting in Rugby.

The day started with the Ringing World AGM. Subscriptions are down to around 2,000 and the team will be launching a more interactive website to include video as well as articles, later this year. 

Awards for young ringing leaders, and tower maintenance, followed.

The main meeting lasted all afternoon. A few highlights: the Young Ringers' hub is officially launched. School lesson plans have been developed but volunteers are needed to bring the content to the hub. There will be a major ringing census between November 16th to 22nd; all individual ringers and tower leaders will be encouraged to take part. This will be a baseline for Ringing 2030 improvements in the number of ringers and teachers over the next 5 years. We all need to be recruiting and teaching to generate 10,000 more ringers by then! There are moves for the C of E safeguarding requirements to be better fitted to ringers.

Two motions were passed, both administrative matters, but still raising healthy debate.

The day also provided important networking opportunities... and a ring on the CC's own 'Touring Tower' mini ring.
